Delta Gammas give more than 96,000 hours a year in volunteer service in a variety of ways to their communities. However, the work of the Foundation extends beyond service. The Foundation is governed by the Delta Gamma Foundation Constitution and Articles of Incorporation, the Convention and the Foundation Board of Trustees. The work of the Foundation is financed by gifts from collegiate chapters, alumnae groups, individual members and their friends/relatives, other foundations, Foundation fund raising, investment income and Fraternity allocations authorized by the Board of Trustees.

Vision...one of our most precious senses. Unexplainable to those without it; irreplaceable to those who have it. Protecting the gift of sight is one of Delta Gamma's highest priorities. Since 1936, Delta Gamma's philanthropic purpose has been to stop blindness before it starts. For men and women for whom blindness is a fact, the mission has been to impact the quality of their lives in a myriad of positive ways. Our chapter helps contribute to Service For Sight in various ways. To help raise awareness and funding for the philanthropy Delta Gamma's across the nation host a variety of different fundraising events known as Anchor Games. This past Spring, the Eta Xi Chapter hosted Anchor Splash at UT Tyler. This event consists of a variety of pool side events, relays and contests entered by various groups at UT Tyler. For our first year we raised over $1800 and hope to make the 2009 Anchor Splash even bigger and better! On behalf of the Eta Xi Chapter at The University of Texas at Tyler would like to thank all of participants, donators and supporters who contributed to the success of this event. In addition to Anchor Splash, we have also previously hosted Anchor Slam in 2007 and two Anchor Wash Car Washes that also benefited the philanthropy.

The Eta Xi chapter also believes in giving back to the community which is why we have developed the Golden Anchor Program that allows our members to volunteer at the The Atria Senior Living Complex. There Delta Gamma's in Tyler contribute to a variety of different programming events hosted by the center such as bingo, scrap booking, tea parties, Wal-Mart shopping trips and more. We also have members who volunteer every year with the Tyler Jaycee's Beeping Easter Egg Hunt for visually impaired children. This event is one of our favorites and is truly a rewarding experience that touches our heart.

Last but certainly not least the Eta Xi Chapter contributes children's eye oculars to local eye centers and doctor's offices in Tyler. We also donate eye glasses to shelters and other facilities in East Texas. Delta Gamma's nation-wide collect Labels for Education which benefit schools for the blind. If you would like to donate any collected box tops or eye glasses (new or used) please mail them to UT Tyler Office of Student Development Attenetion: Delta Gamma 3900 University Blvd. Tyler, Texas 75799.
