Scholarship is very important aspect to the members of the Eta Xi Chapter of Delta Gamma and our national organization. As collegians we understand that our primary purpose is to strive to our very best academic potential and we hold our members accountable for their academic achievements.
As a member of our chapter you are required to follow our study program that implements a set number of study hours that are completed with proctors. The study hours are typically held at the UT Tyler library where members can check in and sit at a table alone, with other sisters, or check out a library study room using their student ID. In addition to, members can gain study hours by attending any of the campus SI Sessions, visiting the campus math labs or the UT Tyler writing center.
Members involved in other extra curricular activities that are required to complete study hours such as cheerleading, pom-squad or athletics are not required to complete additional hours if their Delta Gamma hours are being met by those organizations.
Dee Gees who keep up with their study hours, make good grades on tests, and attend all of their classes are rewarded throughout the semester with rewards and prizes at chapter meetings and also at each semesters scholarship recognition program. At the start of each semester we honor sisters who have made above a 3.5's or higher as well as members who have improved. Members who receive a 4.0 receive a golden lamp of knowledge which can be placed on the members badge in honor of her academic success.
When Delta Gammas need help academically, we often confide in each other. Some of the most popular majors among our members include but are not limited to; nursing, education, business management, biology, marketing, human resources, math, psychology, and art.
