Welcome Aboard!
The Eta Xi Chapter of Delta Gamma is located at The University of Texas at Tyler. Our campus has a fairly new Greek system that began in the spring of 2006 and now currently has 2 NPC organizations (Delta Gamma & Alpha Chi Omega), 3 NIC organizations (Pi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, & Kappa Sigma), and 1 NPHC organization (Delta Sigma Theta).
Our chapter was chartered on April 22, 2006, and we recently celebrated our chapter's fourth birthday. Since our time of colonization, we have received an award from region 6 for our outstanding service to the Delta Gamma foundation. We have held the highest GPA for 6 semesters among the sororities on campus and have members inducted into Order of Omega each year.
We have won best dressed in the Gamma Phi Beta dodge ball tournament, and during Greek Week 2009 DG was awarded the Spirit award and Best Choreography for our lip sync at Greek Sing. Many individuals have also been recognized for their outstanding individual achievements and have reviewed awards such as Sorority Woman of the Year 2006-2007, Student Organization President of the Year 2007-2008, Sorority Woman of the Year 2007-2008, UT Tyler Emerging Leader Award, Outstanding Student Organization member 2007-2008 and Who's Who Award Winner.
Scholarship and service are two important values to our chapter in which we hold with high expectations from our members. Members of Delta Gamma are encouraged to study and put academics first. Our study program involves required study hours based on both prior term and cumulative GPA. The study program is designed to help our members balance both Greek Life and academics, while still going about their normal day to day lives. Service is also important. We strive for members who are diverse and involved in other activities on campus and within the community. Currently we have members who have participated in National Student Nurse's Association Inc, Immerse, UT Tyler Tennis, local church and college youth groups, Baptist Student Association, ACEI, TJC Academy of Dance, Supplemental Instruction Leaders, Tyler Panhellenic Association, SGA, ASCE, Pre-Med Association, Pre- Law Society, Order of Omega, Patriot Singers and Orientation Leaders just to name a few.
